Growing a Healthy Lifestyle in your Garden

Everyone is looking for ways to cut back on expenses including the rising costs of groceries.  Just because you want to save your money, doesn’t mean you can’t have it all.  Organic vegetables often cost 3 times as much as regular vegetables.  Why should you pay those higher prices just to improve your diet?

You don’t have to.  You can supplement your plans for a healthy diet by growing your own vegetables!  That’s right; grow your own mouth-watering vegetables in the privacy of your own backyard.  It is not as difficult as you might think.  There are a few simple things to consider before you start.

Figure out how much space you have to work with.  Use resource information such as the Farmer’s Almanac to learn when it is the best time of the year to plant vegetables and fruits.  Some vegetables grow best in the hottest part of the year while others prefer the fall.  Once you have determine how much space you have consider how much sunlight is available.
